We are now recruiting Research Group Leaders (Fellows) with technical profiles to join the Center for Digital Health (CDH).
About the role
As Research Group Leader (Fellow), you will play a key role in driving digital health research and innovation at Sahlgrenska University Hospital. You will:
- Lead and develop a research group within one of CDH’s research areas
- Initiate and manage applications for external research and innovation funding, with opportunities for co-financing through CDH
- Contribute to the establishment of strategic research and innovation infrastructure
- Participate in the reference group for CDH’s long-term strategic development
You will collaborate closely with CDH’s two Center Directors – one with a clinical/medical background, and the other with an engineering/technical background –a strong combined academic and clinical expertise.
About the Center for Digital Health (CDH)
The Center for Digital Health (CDH) shall serve as a unifying and driving force for pioneering research and innovation in digital health, with practical application of knowledge that advances health and quality of life. CDH shall lead research and innovation partnerships and contribute to education in digital health at the local level within Sahlgrenska University Hospital, at the regional level within Västra Götaland, as well as nationally and internationally. The Center shall engage in close collaboration with organizational development and patient participation structures, while ensuring the clear involvement of academia and industry. CDH shall make a substantial contribution to the objective of Sahlgrenska University Hospital to become a leading university hospital in Europe by 2032.
CDH’s research areas include:
- Data-driven healthcare
- Simulation and digital twins
- Remote monitoring and citizen-generated health data
- Visualization and immersive technologies
- Applied AI
- Secondary use of health data
- Medical device regulation
Who we are looking for
We are seeking a candidate with the following qualifications and attributes:
- PhD (doctorate) in a relevant field (technical)
- Proven research experience and ability to lead research and innovation projects
- Strong interest in digital transformation within healthcare
- Excellent communication and relationship-building skills, with the ability to engage staff, management, and external partners
- Strategic and solution-oriented mindset, combined with independence and integrity
- Ability to inspire, engage, and create a culture of innovation, learning, and respect – always with the patient’s best interest in focus
